LOL CHICKEN WIRE MY ARSE!!!!

At the 5:25min point of my vid, you can clearly see the "chicken wire" fence....and the T90 rounds falling short.... (Please note this vid aint posted yet,,still editing it..)   ;D

Mind you though, im glad we were "seriously" hulldown from you guys....but we still managed to get you to shift positions as I was able to get those 25mm AFDS rounds onto you.

Intresting vid this one..........but it's gonna take a few hours to upload it to SLOWtube!

Thanks for the vid, really nice.

Yeah, the hull down was hilarious, as the only thing I could see was the gun and a tiny bit of the top turret. As  I see now, the rounds went low, and you see SMOKE after the impact. That really strikes me, because I used the whole scale high to low and never saw ANY smoke pile after impact. It is very annoying when they fail to show, and it happens a lot, if you know what I mean. Thus you get no feedback and cant calibrate.

I went through the whole scale from high lead to low lead, because the unrealistic smoke blocks the view, which makes seeing the impact itself impossible, it is all guesswork and experience with bulletdrop (no hit feedback). I never hit you, and that made me angry as all the different scales I used never hit, as well I never saw the smoke after the round impact. It's great having these graphic bugs, that the smoke wont show just when you really need it, LOL. ;D

Thirdly, the 125mm has horrible dispersion, so right from the start it was quite unlikely to hit you, but we tried  ::)

...At least our inf got you in the end. *after-taste*
Awkward but funny that we had to flee because you could easily fire and see the impact without a pile of smoke blocking your view.

It's funny you mention "Chicken Wire" as a few days ago I came across a rather intresting picture, I have found it and posted below....Basicaly SLAT Armor is heavy, so a british company has developed this special wire mesh armor to defeat RPG's....(Called RPGnet)

This armor is going onto new Polish APC's. (Pic below)

Just thought it was intresting...

Monk, the US strykers have used such "grids" on the side for a long time. How truly effective it is I wouldt know though - but it may appeard the IED treath is greater than a RPG.

What Cat has posted is specifically for IED's in the sandbox, and it does greatly reduce damage to the crew inside in terms of they live rather than die. The RPG net on that Polish vehicle I have not seen, but I assume its to catch RPG's rather than IED's due to its layout.

Grid is used to activate hand launcher HEAT warhead prior touching armor itself so cumulative blast is greatly decreased.
Even more genius thing Israeli came up for Merkava tank. It basicaly chains with metal ball on the end which can stop (read break) SABOT round when it entangles with those chains.

2nd that...Grids are used to protect the main armour of vehicles against HE rounds that effectively damage the lengh of service of heavy armour and risking lives in its future combat, down side to solid grids is that they are easily bent and useless after one hit, the nets they flex and basicly can take afew hits before being replaced.

@Alan ... The Merka needs something to stop rounds because its armour isnt up to the job,lol

I went through the whole scale from high lead to low lead, because the unrealistic smoke blocks the view

I would say it is realistic for dry mud effects...You imagine that thud of the gun vibrating through 60-70 ton tank to the ground and picking up the dirty/dust, on top of that there is no defusser so it all gets kicked up infront rather than to the sides from the blast...Its just we havent got the optics that tanks have today to deal with it and carry on fighting, lol

Jones??? lol

No, in real life the tank barrel has a gunpowder "vacum cleaner". It basically sucks up the gunpowder in an instant, giving clear view of the impact. Then a few seconds later does the dust which the gun kicked off from the ground come to view. :) At least on the M1.

Yeah thats the big part of the barrel in the middle it sucks up the gunpowder to stop it going back into the loaders bay and choking them out
