When the new official patch is released

When the new official patch is released, Will the CF server switch over immediately to the new patch? Requiring us to download it to play? For example say on sunday the new patch is released early in the day. Should we all download the patch to play or would the server only update after sunday? Because from how I understand it if we download the official patch, when it comes out and the server doesn't switch then we would have a big balls up as some players would of downloaded the patch and can play and those that haven't can't play. I hope I made myself clear hehe.... I'm not exactly that good at explaining things.

We will give enough notice on the patch update for the servers but:

All Servers have been Updated to Patch 1.60.

This Version is needed for Battle 2.

I installed the 1.60 patch and its works on the training server. I have not installed the HOTFIX wee patch...I was scared. Do i just copy over the old stuff or do i have to find the old files and remove them ?

I just extracted the contents out of the rar and cut and pasted them into the arma  2 folder, And overwrote what needed to.

Just replace old files with new ones. I did that and game works fine.
